Batik short course of 1 hour duration. This is the shortest course available with professional instructors that ensures all participants can make a simple batik at the end of the course. All processes are undertaken by each participant from Motif Design (using pencil direct to the media), Nyanting (using the canting, kind of wax pencil), Lorod (dissolving the wax to reveal the color by boiling it), Dyeing/ Colouring. For batik making there are 3 media that can be used - cotton, wood and paper. Each media has its own characteristics when the dye touches the media. Our instructors will give directions to do simple batik, re-touching and repair if the batik article does not turn out right during the training. At the end of the course all the participants can expect to make a simple batik piece in a relatively short time.
Facilities:
For this course to run effectively, we suggest the number of participants is limited to 5 people per group. Only the registered participant/s can use the canting and follow all the processes from beginning to end.
